My name is Austin Tylec. I am a candidate for Mayor in the City of North Tonawanda and respectfully ask for your support. I am currently serving in my fourth year as North Tonawanda Alderman at Large. Since 2014 I have worked for CPL (Clark Patterson Lee), a WNY Architecture, Engineering, & Planning firm primarily focused on municipal projects. I am a graduate of the North Tonawanda City School District and received my Bachelor & Master’s Degree from the University of Buffalo, both in Architecture.
In 2018 I was elected to represent our residents, and have served on numerous local organizations focused on supporting small businesses and community enhancements for our city. While our Alderman at Large, I have proposed many items such as an Ethics Committee to guarantee laws are followed and a Financial Stability Committee to ensure responsible budgeting with your tax dollars. In 2020 I formed a Complete Count Committee to increase awareness of the 2020 Census, ultimately impacting how much federal funding our community receives while teaming up with surrounding Municipalities. I have worked with state representatives to bring over $300,000 in state funding for improvements to our Pinewoods Park, City Market, Police Department, DPW, and more. In addition, I will continues to be an advocate for transparent and accessible government focused on our businesses & community member's needs.

As Mayor I will continue to focus on creating a proactive government; focused on
-
Implementing an open & responsible budget process to protect tax dollars
-
Expanding Environmental, Commercial, & Residential Projects
-
Prioritizing Aging Infrastructure (Roads, sidewalks, Water/Sewer Lines)
-
Ensuring Accessible, Transparent, & Accountable Government
-
Enhancing our parks, waterfront, city market, and community spaces
-
Focusing on long-term solutions, not short-term fixes
Residents have gotten to know me through my extensive community interactions. This has included my Facebook follow-ups and thorough use of social media, including weekly email updates. All of this is done to keep residents informed as much as possible, but to also create a high level of transparency & approachability, which has been long needed and a well-received addition for our community. I do not believe one contact has gone unanswered throughout my term.
I promise to continue fighting for good government and be a public servant for everyone in our city. I see the potential in North Tonawanda and will bring a future we can all look forward to.
Thank you for your support,
